Mikaela is a Professional Counselor Associate who works with adults and teens navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, life transitions, and relational challenges. She gained experience in both a college wellness center and a local group practice while earning her Masters in Counseling from OSU-Cascades. As a counselor, Mikaela offers a space to move at the pace of trust, welcoming all facets of clients, including the overwhelmed, the tender, the witty, and even the part that may be skeptical about counseling. She feels honored to sit alongside others as they navigate challenge, reconnect with their inner wisdom, and move toward what feels most aligned and meaningful.
Mikaela’s approach is collaborative, relational, and grounded in warmth. She aims to create a space where clients can safely explore their emotions and experiences, even those carrying pain. With curiosity and care, she supports clients in getting to know these parts, making room for healing, growth, and a deeper connection to self and others.
Her work is rooted in Relational-Cultural Theory and informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and parts-based experiential approaches, such as Internal Family Systems (IFS). She values emotional processing, mindfulness, and the power of connection. Mikaela centers cultural identity, social context, and equity in her work, and is committed to providing an LGBTQIA+ affirming space where all identities are welcome. At its core, her work is about supporting clients in building relationships with themselves and others that feel more authentic, present, and alive.
Outside of her clinical work, Mikaela is often trying to keep up with her dog, Theo. She also enjoys dancing, reading, and baking something that she imagines could earn a handshake from Paul Hollywood. She seeks restorative moments laughing with her people or existing by the water.
