Ben was born and raised in San Jose California and has lived in Bend for about twelve years. He earned his undergraduate degree in Tourism and Outdoor Recreation and his Masters in Counseling both from Oregon State University- Cascades.
Ben has experience working with clients throughout the lifespan and from a variety of backgrounds through local non-profit work, group practice, and at the OSU Cascades Counseling Clinic. He is a Professional Counselor Associate through the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.
Ben believes in the importance of honoring and respecting each client’s unique journey and inner wisdom. He works to engage collaboratively in meaningful and empowering work intended to support growth and change in his clients’ lives. Ben’s approach draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and strengths-based work. Ben strives to help clients live with authenticity and is a big believer in the human capacity for healing. Ben is LGBTQIA+ affirming and seeks to support and respect the diversity of clients and the rich experiences their lives hold.
When he is not working, Ben enjoys gardening, spending time with friends, playing Dungeons and Dragons and video games, getting out into nature, and traveling. Ben loves animals, plants, and a good swim in the Deschutes River on a hot summer day.
